It's an interesting titbit to start the blog this week.
What are your feet telling you where your origins lie?
This is something which I can guarantee everybody will do after reading this week's blog.
FYI my origins according to this graphic are Egyptian haha so by my reckoning I could be related to Tutenkamun !!!!!!! not!!! haha.
I celebrated my sister Sue's birthday and my daughter Sarah's birthday this week. They refer to themselves as birthday twins as they both celebrate on the 13th of February. Last year I took them both out for a birthday treat on their actual birthdays. This year Sue couldn't make her birthday as she was off up to Tan Hill using up a Christmas present she had received from her daughter as a present, so I whisked her out the day before. We had a lovely brunch at MJ's in Middleton St George. The following day I took Sarah out for lunch to the Imperial Express for her birthday treat. Ben came along to celebrate his sister's birthday, so he got a treat as well haha. It was only when I returned home that I realised I hadn't taken any photos, (so unlike me haha).
It's been 3 months since my last delivery from the Log company so Wednesday afternoon I undertook my full body workout after the 1-ton dumpy bag of logs was delivered. It took me about an hour to manhandle the logs one at a time into the log store, but it was a job well done.
Thursday morning I was up early doors making the final preparations for Aquashield to arrive at 8.30 to begin the transformation of my conservatory roof. Hence all the plants and furniture were dumped in my lounge for the day. The roof currently has a rather stained and opaque polycarbonate covering, which I am having replaced with super-insulated blue clear glass. As you can see, the before and after pictures speak for themselves. The guys from Aquashield did a fantastic job giving the conservatory a much-needed makeover. They took all the old rubbish away and even cleaned the windows in the conservatory when they had finished. I was looking after wee Frank yesterday so he appointed himself foreman for the day and kept a beady eye on the proceedings, barking his instructions at them periodically, consequently, he was shattered by the end of the day because he hadn't slept haha.
Harry, my oldest grandson is nearing the end of his week in the Spanish mountains. He has been on a school skiing trip which he is thoroughly enjoying.
As you can see from the pictures it is very sunny (apparently unusually so) so the amount of snow is not as it should be. In fact it was reported on the news last week that the temp should be around 5 to 8 degrees but it was hitting a very unseasonal 23 degrees. I was worried that he wouldn't get any snow to ski on.
Nonetheless, they have managed to find said snow and he has been mastering his skills on the slopes.
On Wednesday they moved to France for a day of skiing which didn't impress Harry at all. I think his comment to his mam was that the Spanish ski resort was far better than the French one haha.
