It's Sunday and you would think that I would be child carefree, haha you are having a giraffe as I was woken early this morning 7.15 to be precise with a request to look after Robyn who has a head cold and Ben didn't want her sitting on the touchline at a football tournament Dominic was playing in. So of course I said yes and said grandchild was propelled through the door at around 8.15.
Well, I had plenty to do before my dinner guest arrived so I was actually thankful to be up.
Mid-morning Sarah rang to invite me to accompany her up to Ikea in Newcastle, as I hadn't been up there for ages I jumped at the chance, I said I would try to re-arrange my guests for an early lunch, I have to say they didn't want to comply but eventually did. That sorted I settled down to complete the preparation of the veg and the roast chicken.
Then I remembered that I had told my sister that I would provide the dessert today as well. So a short time later I had a scrummy homegrown bramble pie in the oven.
Got some matching glasses in Ikea which I had been looking for for ages and Leighton who also came along for the ride wrangled a soft toy sandwich (don't ask) and a soft basketball for Harry out of me. Well I guess that's what nanas are for, isn't it?
Tonight I will be watching the result show of Strictly Come Dancing before logging in for a catch up chat with my cruise friends.
