Working on the curb appeal

Here is this little minion gearing up to help celebrate the Queens Platinum jubliee.

Yes it is a tad early to be thinking of it, but I had heard on the grapevine this morning that some of the residents in our Grove have already put an application into the council to close the street for a street party on the first weekend in June. So I will be volunteering my services so will probs get a job from the committee.

Actually, I had thought that I would be missing any such street party as I am planning a long weekend away with my lovely cruise friends for the last bank holiday in May.

I knew it would be close to the celebrations, but I read today that they are moving the late May bank holiday until the weekend of the 3rd to the 6th June, so that people can have a 4 day mini holiday to help the queen celebrate. As I would be returning from Ely on the 30th May any celebrations in the street would be the following week so all good.

Today marked the return of my gardener, Ian, he has, in his own words, been hibernating with his phone turned off over the winter months.

So this morning he made a start on the mother units garden and came to me this afternoon. It is so nice to actually begin to sort out the garden again and it is surprising how many shoots are coming through.

I didn't want him to know that I was taking his picture for the blog so I took it sneakily through the dining room window haha.

Well after 2 hours my front garden curb appeal is defo starting to emerge. He will return in 2 weeks time and he will do some more.

It was lovely to actually get some clothes out on the line this morning, even though it was a bit baltic the sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. By the end of the afternoon I had a full load of washing dried and folded - result.
