So this morning I set to work with the sledgehammer, which Ben had dropped off to me yesterday.
It didn't take long for the retaining wall around the newly discovered tree stump to cave in under my relentless pounding haha.
Actually, I found it immensely satisfying to wield the hammer and bring it smashing down on the bricks and they in turn giving way immediately.
After about an hour I had a large pile of rubble and a pile of bricks. I am hoping that I will be able to re-use the bricks to construct a base for the new shed.
Now all that remains is the problem of getting the tree stump out. I will have another go tomorrow but need to get as much of the back wall cleared to allow Scott to put the new fence in on Monday.
Around 3.30 this afternoon I took the mother unit down to say hello and happy birthday to Leighton. We had a couple of beers and sat in the garden which was pleasant. Leighton loved his gifts. Then we all tucked into the Daddy Cake Legs cake which was also very nice.
