This minion meme is probably why my Delay Don't Deny regime has stalled haha. But seriously I have still been able to go out for parties and meals out and have still lost 1 stone in 5 weeks since my return from Southwell, so I am not actually complaining, it is just me being as impatient as ever haha. Speaking to my DDD consultant (aka my friend Carol) this morning she assured me that things would be fine and to wind my neck in and be patient.
After the continued deluge over the last week and my baking tin having to have been emptied a few times, I cracked up this morning and phoned a roofing company, Eastbourne Roofers came out and looked at my roof. The verdict is that the repair my builder did has caused more damage than it has fixed. My builder, not being a roofer had applied expanding foam to try and block up any holes. The roofer was shaking his head in disbelief and told me that he would try and get the foam off without breaking more tiles but he was not promising anything. Luckily I have about 20 spare tiles so we should be okay. So for the princely sum of £740, they will take off 5 rows of tiles to the width of the bay window and replace the felt and batons, they will replace several tiles which are cracked further up the roof and finally they will coat the lead with a fibreglass resin to make it waterproof. When all of this is done I will redecorate the end of the kitchen which has suffered water damage. I got the company on recommendation from the online trade checker Bark.
This morning I felt inspired to add a few more words to my latest novel. So 1500 words later I pressed save and went into the kitchen to bake something to feed the mother unit and my Auntie Alice for tea.
So what have I been making? Chicken and sweetcorn pie in a white wine sauce. I had several spoonfuls leftover and a little bit of pastry so I made a few mini pies which will be presented tonight over our weekly game of cards. What I am super proud of is the fact that I even made the pastry from scratch, which is something I never usually do as my hands are too hot and it ruins the pastry, but thanks to iced water, and a beautiful quartz island I succeeded.
This week I have again had someone knocking at my door and ringing my bell, yep another £10 on the Postcode Lottery. It is all very nice but I want one of those big cheques you can't get into your purse haha.
