Whole new meaning of peep-toed shoes!

It wasn't me making people smile today it was the mother unit haha.

I rang her first thing asking if she would like to go to have a look around a shopping park.

She of course said yes, so around 10 o'clock this morning I picked her up. The sun was shining and we were both dressed in suitably summery clothes.

Now, mum is old school and will eke out the maximum wear from items of clothing and shoes.

Well, today she was sporting a pair of very nice al-be-it well-worn leather sandals. Which in their day would have been very nice. She got in the car and off we went.

At Tindale Outlet in Bishop Auckland, we began our marathon in Home Bargins. then onto TKMaxx and the Card Factory. All the while mum was complaining about her feet. But as this wasn't something new I am afraid I didn't pay much attention. As we were coming out of the card Factory I looked down at her feet and this is what I saw haha.

It is no wonder her feet were hurting. I have to say we both saw the funny side of it and she did actually say to me I suppose you will be writing about this in your blog tonight. To true mother, can't let a priceless gem-like that go.

Whilst I was out today I purchased some twinkly fairy lights for the garden. So this afternoon I have been winding them in and out of the wrought iron archway and along the top of the wooden arch over the water feature. It won't be until tonight that I will get the effect and of course it all depends on whether the solar batteries have had time to charge. No doubt a will be following up with photographs if they work.

Tonight sees the return of our cards night so after mum has had her tea with me I will take her home and be joined by Sue for a few games of calcukee.
