Oh my days, this was me this afternoon trying to decide which half of my wardrobe I should take with me on my mini long weekend break tomorrow.
I am really looking forward to the break and to having some quality time with my friends, I hope I will come back with my batteries recharged and ready for what promises to be a busy week leading up to the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
I just had to decide on 3 outfits for evenings, then there were outfits for the 4 days, of course, I then had to take into consideration my travelling outfit, would it be the same one I wear coming back? Who knows? Then of course have I got one pair of shoes that will be okay with all outfits. (I have ended up with 3 pairs haha). Do I take a jacket, cardigan or raincoat araggghhh, on consulting the weather stations I am still in a quandary as the weather seems to be a mixed bag? As I am going down on the train I can't just chuck a few different options in the back of the car. I am so out of touch with travelling that I have most certainly overpacked.
Now you have probably realised that I am imminently going away. You are quite right, I will be meeting up with my cruise friends in Ely tomorrow and returning to the Jungalow by late afternoon on Monday. So my dear blog readers after this blog today there will not be a blog until Monday night. I hope you will be okay and not pine for my ramblings haha. More to the point I hope you will come back to me on Monday to continue your education in to the weird world of Dot of the Jungalow haha.
This morning I met up with Rita as we attended a charity coffee morning at Abbey School. It is the school where 2 of my grandchildren go and was a very successful morning. They raised a lot of money for a children's cancer charity which is close to the children's hearts.
Of course, imagine my surprise when on arrival this lovely lady was sitting in the entrance hall on her throne haha.
I remember Harry telling me last week that he had been making a model of the queen and I was pleased to actually see it.
We had lovely homemade cakes and were treated to violin playing, singing and a group performing a song using the Makaton sign language, very impressive. To round off the entertainment five children asked the audience to jumble up a Rubix cube and they were timed solving it. I have to say the fastest child, a girl, completed the task in 1 minute 10 seconds, it was amazing to watch.
So I have arrived at the end of the afternoon and my case is now packed haha. But I am taking a rucksack also which will have my ultra-lightweight rain coat/warm coat in. Tonight of course I still have to take the mother unit to her sisters and pick her up again at 10 and then go to Sarah where I am providing the dinner tonight. I have made a chicken and mushroom casserole which smells lovely. It has been festering in the slow cooker since 8.30 this morning.
So I will sign off for a couple of days and just hope that Karen in South Africa can get to sleep without reading my endless drivel haha.
