Been yet another busy all-be-it a bitty kind of day. This morning I was back at my dentists to discuss my partial dentures and their ineffectualness. It was decided that I would sack off the dentures in favour of going down the implant route, that is if my dentist can come up with a finance plan that doesn't expect me to pay £7.500 back in one year. Although late this afternoon he sent me some papers to look over which have a much better payment plan spread over 5 years. But there is always the chance I can pay it off sooner if I win the lottery haha. But in terms of my quality of life, I think it will be money well spent.
So that was this morning taken care of. Now on to this afternoon and my diabetic eye screening clinic. I had to get my sister Sue to take me as my eyesight would be affected by the drops that they put in to enlarge my pupils, so driving was not recommended. Eyes tested and drops administered, which stung like hell and I was then shown into the next room to have my femoral arteries in my feet checked and the soles of my feet tickled. The practitioner was well impressed that my arteries sounded like a steam train, her words, haha. I am pleased to say that all is as it should be so that's me clear for another year.
I don't know if you remember last year when everyone was boasting about their lush strawberries and I offered up the strawberries which grew in my garden. Well, this year I have had a bumper crop but you guessed it they are tiny. Why are they tiny you may ask? Because they are wild strawberries. So I took the decision this afternoon to vamoose the wild strawberry patch altogether and go out tomorrow to buy some cultivated strawberries to start again.
This week sees the final governor meetings for this current academic year. Tonight it was a mind-numbing 2 1/2 hours for Polam Hall and tomorrow it will be Hurworths turn.
