Up and Over - Day 434

Well after a very busy end to my week last week, I am at a bit of a loose end this morning.

I was up with my alarm, as usual, this morning got dressed and was just making myself some breakfast (toast and marmalade) and a cuppa when I remember that Sarah had told me on Saturday night that she was off work today as she is getting new carpets fitted. A sudden realisation dawned that I could have stayed in bed longer as the children would be taken to school by her. So instead of a frantic herding cats moment which usually accompanies the school run, I had a very civilised breakfast reading my emails.

After breakfast, I decided to take advantage of the sunny weather before it closed in and went into the back garden to erect a wrought-iron archway that Sue and Jeff had given me yesterday. It was a challenge, to say the least, as it had to be erected flat then stood up, which was no mean feat as it was bloody heavy. But it is now in place and I have begun to train the cultivated thornless bramble over it. I think I did a good job if I say so myself. Yesterday I cut both lawns as it is forecast to rain later this week when the gardener is coming and I have left him my least favourite job which is edging the lawn.

This morning I also took the opportunity to book an attraction for this coming weekend when I'm down in Southwell with my cruise friends. So on Saturday, we are visiting the Workhouse in Southwell and on Sunday the Justice Museum and City of Caves in Nottingham. I think there is a theme developing here haha.

Of course, there will be lots of pictures featuring me and my friends to share after next weekend, this is just a flavour of what we might see.

It is love island central in my garden at the moment with the birds. The blackbird is sitting on eggs in the garage and I caught these two on the fence at the bottom of the garden getting all cuddly this afternoon, well at least someone is getting some action haha.
