Unexpected email.

I woke this morning still feeling a little under the weather. Last night even though I was convinced it was nothing more than a head cold I decided to take a covid test as I am busy this week and didn't want to head off to Ely on Friday with the chance to infect everyone. I have to report that the Lateral Flow Test I did last night confirmed what I thought which was that it was indeed only a head cold phewww...

I think Harry must have broken himself with all the concentration on the Queen's portrait on Saturday night haha. Because he was a no show for school this morning, apparently he had not been feeling well on Saturday and Sarah had said he was a bit lethargic on Sunday, so it didn't surprise me that he stayed in bed this morning. Actually, it was really nice to have Leighton on his own, as there was no fighting or bickering. But of course, Harry will be back at school tomorrow so I will be on sentry duty to keep them apart again.

Last night I had a lovely zoom call with my Braemarer friends. We were firming up the final details ahead of our long weekend break in Ely this Friday. I will be getting the train down and I think they are driving up. Someone has promised to pick me up from the station in Ely so that is ok.

I have been crafting again this afternoon. I have been making a little something to take with me for Sandra and Carol when I go down to Ely on Friday.

Last night I watched the Jubilee pageant from Windsor. I recorded it over the weekend and sat down last night to view it. I have to say I was fully intending to whizz through the bits that were boring but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole 2-hour show. I thought the queen looked lovely and the outpouring of love for her was very evident.

Now you may be wondering why I am showing The Chateau De La Motte - Husson. You may or may not have caught the TV programme Escape to the Chateau, but this is the chateau that is featured in the programme.

I told you that I had decorated my bedroom with designs from the Chateau owner Angela Strawbridge. That's her with her husband Dick and their children Dorothy and Arthur.

Well, last Saturday I had a moment of madness and decided that I would email the chateau and send them some of the pictures I had taken of my bedroom.

I was not expecting a reply, but imagine my surprise when this afternoon I received a lovely email back from Angela Strawbridge. She thanked me for my email and complimented me on my bedroom makeover. I can honestly say I was thrilled to receive the email in such a short time and applaud them for being human and not acting like celebrities. I was gutted to learn that they had been doing a talk about the chateau at the Hippodrome a couple of weeks ago and I had not known about it so therefore I had missed it.
