Totally battered.....

Yep, folks my good deed today to take my Auntie Alice and the mother unit shopping would have sent the sanest person crazy.

But, here is the thing, I have signed up to do it all over again tomorrow haha. I am sitting here writing the blog and my head is totally battered.

The objective of today's shopping was to try and find Auntie Alice another frock for Friday night's party. As she is a rather ample lady, size 22, it is difficult to find things in her size that has a bit of glitz and glam.

We tried the Next outlet, no joy, although I purchased another dress for Friday for me haha, then we tried TKMaxx again no luck, but again another top fell in the barrow for me.

Next mother suggested we lower our sights and try some charity shops, oh the pain. Three charity shops later and still no luck.

So tomorrow morning I am taking the mother unit for her batteries charged, AKA her B12 injection ay her doctors, so by Friday, she should be a bit more with it haha. So I volunteered to take my auntie into town to look again for a dress. Mother doesn't want to go so it will be just the two of us.

Whilst we were in Cockerton Auntie Alice was in need of a wee. She went into the library and was told to leave as they were not prepared to allow her to go to the toilet. So we called into the Pear Tree cafe and since it was lunchtime, and the only way she would be allowed to go to the toilet, we stayed to have lunch. That in itself was a challenge as the mother unit found fault with everything. So a couple of rounds of tuna mayo sandwiches, and a cherry scone later and my purse £18 pounds lighter, we hit the 3 charity shops in the village. Still no luck.

One of my other jobs today was to check with the cater and the entertainment for Friday. The entertainment was fine and all set, but the cater had not booked in the buffet. I told her we had paid a deposit back in January so she went away to investigate, she rang me later to say that she had found the booking and would be okay to provide the buffet for Friday night pheww, for one brief moment I was thinking that I would be making a buffet for 50 people on Friday morning myself instead of relaxing at the hairdressers.

Tonight I am preparing the dinner for mum and Auntie Alice, now usually I would go and get mum and bring her back to mine, but it is a challenge getting both old dears in my car plus it is raining, so I will cook the dinner here and transport it to them.
