Well, thankfully there is still Google as it was invaluable this morning as I needed to make an urgent inquiry.
I had been out to Aldi to pick up the weekly shop and a few bits for the mother unit and when I came back I noticed that there were groups of people looking up at the sky along the street. I followed their gaze and was surprised to see a tornado style cloud formation in the sky behind the bungalow at the end of my grove.
So this is where Google comes in. I asked the question what it was and this is the answer that came back.
Funnel cloud A funnel cloud is a funnel-shaped cloud of condensed water droplets, associated with a rotating column of wind and extending from the base of a cloud but not reaching the ground or a water surface. A funnel cloud is usually visible as a cone-shaped or needle-like protuberance from the main cloud base. It is not a tornado until it touches the ground, but is a rare occurrence in the UK.
Tonight I am having Robyn and Dominic over for a weekend sleepover. Ben and Nikki are off to a wedding in Tewksbury. I am looking forward to having them stay and have brought appropriate and inappropriate supplies for us to eat haha.
Finally this afternoon the roofers turned up. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the work which had been quoted for. Apparently, the whole roof has no roof felt on it, so they couldn't replace any haha. So they shimmed up the roof to replace several broken tiles and then they painted a fibreglass resin over the flat lead roof over the bay window thus rendering it waterproof. So now I await a new quote for the work which they did carry out.
