To pick or not to pick? - Day 428

Another bright day in Jungalowland, actually it is another can't make my mind up weather day. We have had bright sunshine, very nice, overcast, not so nice and rain so far today and it is only 12 o'clock.

Harry is poorly today so I am back on an actual school run this afternoon. For the past 4 weeks or so Harry and Leighton have walked from school to my house. But Leighton is too little to do that on his own so I have been dispatched to stand on the schoolyard, suitably distanced, with my best face covering on at home time. I will take the opportunity whilst I am out to take him straight home. He has a bottomless tummy and has already eaten half the contents of my fridge and it is only Tuesday.

I woke this morning full of vim and vigour, so what did I turn my energies to today? Yesterday I had noticed that the conservatory had become very dusty and had actually started to get a bit of mildew and mould on the frames having been locked up for the winter, so that is where I have been focusing my time this morning.

It is very satisfying to complete a cleaning project like that haha. Well, whilst I was cleaning I noticed that the children had been in and spilt blackcurrant juice and tea on my new rug as well as Dave the dog being allowed to track mud in from the garden. Well, let me introduce you to the product of the day. Dr Beckermans Carpet Stain Remover. I have never found a product to beat it and so easy to use.

Okay, now I am on the lookout for some advice. I have an orange tree in my conservatory which has 4 satsuma sized oranges on it. It has beautiful glossy leaves which look very healthy. It looks very attractive but my question is "Do I have to remove the fruit in order for the tree to grow and flower for this season. All my reading has told me everything I need to know to keep it happy and growing but not that. Will it matter that the fruit is still on the tree or not? Will it only move on when it is not feeding the fruit? I would love to know. Apparently, the fruit is edible but very sour.

I joined an online blog about the orange and the consensus of opinion is that if I want the tree to blossom I will have to the oranges.
