Very easy Sunday so far so this will be a short blog haha.
Woke reasonably early this morning about 8.30 and whilst I had a cuppa I watched a documentary about the Spice Girls that I had recorded. I know what you are thinking but actually, it was really interesting .
Around 9.45 I decided that I had better get up and put the pork onto roast for lunch.
That done and the veg prepped I decided that I would bake another batch of blueberry muffins to eat with our coffee after lunch today. So 3/4 hour later I had 12 shiny new muffins cooling on a rack.
My dinner guests arrived at 1 o'clock and left 2 hours later. So now I have the jungalow back to myself in peace and quiet with only the detritus of lunch to bang in the dishwasher.
I had a lovely hour-long chat with my good friend Val who lives in Abingdon this morning. It was a long-overdue catch-up and we covered quite a bit of ground haha. She will be coming up to Darington to see her brother soon, he is not in the best of health, so she has confirmed that she is up for a GNO (girls night out) so I will be arranging that soon.
So Sunday was a very low key day.
I watched a film called Old. It is a rather strange film, to say the least. The premise (I won't give too much away in case you decide to watch it) is that these families are marooned on a beach and they age a lifetime in just one day.
It was one of those films that you feel is a little silly, but you have to keep watching to the end to find out what and why it happened.
So if you are in the mood for it and you can get hold of it as it was made at the end of 2020 I would maybe give it a watch.
The twist at the end is surprising but does rather make sense of the whole film.
Since Sarah has sold her old mini and now has a shiny new one, they are, as a family, down to just one car, which means that I will be on morning and afternoon school runs for the foreseeable future. But at least once the boys are in school at 8.50 then the rest of the day is my own.
