This morning was full-on from the get-go. The alarm went off at 7.00 to allow me 6to make myself presentable for the morning ahead. So shower hair wash teeth deodorant makeup yep the whole nine yards.
All this had to be achieved to allow me to be walking out of the door at 8.15, as my arrival at Polam Hall School was 8.30.
I was attending Polam today in my capacity as an Academy Councillor to assist in the internal appointment of an assistant principal with responsibility for teachers and staff professional development. What a mouth full, haha, but very interesting. It is some years since I last found myself in the position o help decide someones future development. Three candidates, three presentations, three rounds of identical questions to ask but three completely different approaches and responses, my head was a tad battered haha. At the end of the morning, I was glad that my fellow academy councillor and I were released from our duties as overseers to the process for the academy and not at all envious of the decision which would have to be made.
I called at mums on the way home and was roped into taking my Auntie Alice into town to change some trousers. Several purchases later including a pair of lovely linen trousers and a linen top for myself, we were on our way back home.
Whilst everyone tonight is football crazy I for one am trying to sidestep the process. Yet again I have been called upon to do my mothers and Aunties nails ahead of their return to Essex after the weekend. So my indulgent football free night is not going to materialise, such is life. But of course, I am not with any patriotism so ....... GO GET UM BOYS!!!!!!!
