This morning I was up bright and early, no repeat of sleeping in and answering the door to the builder in my nightie haha.
So there I was dressed and breakfast underway by 8.15, then I received a call from the builder informing me that he would be a little late as he was going to pick up supplies first. Such is life, but at least I was ready for the plasterer at 8.30.
Friday mornings are trial by shopping with my mother. I am usually a very easy going person, but shopping with mum is guaranteed to make me see red. The mother unit at 89 thinks she can gallop around many shops for hours. I have to tell you that I find it physically challenging sometimes. Anyway, mum complained of aching legs from the get-go this morning and you can imagine the short shrift I got when I suggested that maybe she was getting a little too old for groceries shopping now. Scary, I am not going there anymore haha.
I was in decorating mode this morning, finally able to turn my eyes to the finishing touches. So, paint bought for the ceiling and walls. Denim coloured carpet tiles for the new craft room floor. My new breakfast table and chairs also arrived this morning. Don't you love it when a plan comes together?
So, end of week two and massive progress has been made in the new kitchen this week.
All the new drainage pipes and water supplies are in for the sink, washing machine and dishwasher. The plasterer finished the bay window ceiling. Alan my builder was showing me the drainage layout, to see if I was happy, but I had to point out that the water drain for the washing machine, which is hidden inside the island, was in the wrong place. He had positioned the waste to come up inside a cupboard, haha last picture above shows him repositioning said drain pipe..
It was so nice to switch on the water feature today, as I sat and ate my sushi in the back garden. The sun was really warm and the sound of running water made for a lovely luncheon interlude. I was going to treat you to the tinkling water sound by posting this picture in video format but I am not 100% up on converting that kind of media so that I can share it on the blog. Another lesson needed from my son I think.
