This morning I attended a Grail trial called Galleri. It was run by Kings College Hospital and an American company, who are testing a procedure to see if it is possible to detect cancers earlier with just a blood test.
Apparently, the American company are already using the test in the states but the British team want to carry out a study first to see if the American claims live up to the hype.
It was a very straightforward procedure:-
1. watch a quick video,
2. Answer some questions about your health and lifestyle, 3. Give a couple of viles of blood.
Then sign to say you agree with them keeping your samples for up to 3 years and maybe even sending them to the states.
All that completed you are presented with a £10 gift voucher for Morrisons as a thank you. So that was most of the morning taken care of haha.
This afternoon my gardener has been making sure my garden is up to scratch before Dave's brother and his wife come to visit. I want the place to look good as they have not seen the Jungalow yet.
Tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of Dave's passing. Sarah and I are going up to the cemetery to put some new flowers on his grave, I tend to put silk flowers on instead of fresh ones because they keep the grave looking cared for longer. After the cemetery, we will go and have breakfast together somewhere. Unfortunately Ben is away on holiday so can't join us, but I am sure he will spare a couple of minutes to think about him.
So that is all for today, after such a busy weekend it is actually nice to take things easy haha.
