Scott arrived at 7.45 this morning to make a start on the new shed.
We unpacked it on the lawn and laid out all the pieces. Next, we found the substantial instruction manual and set to work.
Again I was in the role of skivvy but Scott did all the heavy work. It wasn't long before I noticed a huge, nay a massive problem, the actual shed whilst being 6 x 5 was orientated in the wrong direction. I had mistakenly assumed that the front edge with the double doors would be the 5foot edge, how wrong was I? Luckily I noticed it before we had really got going. This meant that the double doors would be opening out onto the soft fruit garden.
Sometime later and after a lot of scratting of the head, It was decided that an extension would have to be built and attached to the original base see picture 2.
It didn't take Scott long to knock up the frame and board it out which would allow the shed to be turned on the base to have the front double doors facing out onto the lawn and path.
After this small set back we motored on through the rest of the day and by 3 o'clock this afternoon we were putting the finishing touches to the shed and tidying up. Scott will return in 2 weeks to repair the crazy paving and to carry on with the garage renovation. So I have until then to sort out the garage and get some charity runs and tips runs in.
After a long lay off due to holidays, illness and the sports hall being used for O Level and A level exams, it was back to Longfield School tonight for basketball practice, then on to Sarah's for my dinner.
