Well if you didn't already know it is my birthday today.
I was supposed to be cooking lunch for mum Sue and Jeff but my lovely children decided that they would take me out for the day.
So this morning Ben came and did a few jobs for me whilst we waited for Sarah and her family to come around.
We set off at about 12.20 for Seaton Carew a 45-minute drive away. The weather was glorious and even on the coast, it was not that cold.
So we went to a restaurant called Surfside. We had ordered 5 surfside afternoon teas and the children got tugboats. As you can see the bottom layer was fish and chips the middle layer was bread and butter and mushy peas and the top layer cake, it was absolutely delicious.
Next, we went for a walk along the seafront. The children had a great time in and out of the sea and playing on the swings, whilst Lee and Ben passed the time collecting huge pieces of driftwood. Ben stood one up and I said that it looked like Lots wife after she had been turned to salt, to which I got blank stares from my children, what on earth did they learn in RE at school haha. The seafront was very active both on and off the water. Brilliant day thoroughly enjoyed it.
So I got a lovely engraved vase and a picture in a customised frame with a lovely bouquet of flowers from Ben Nikki Dominic and Robyn. Sarah Lee Harry and Leighton bought me a lovely Radley bag.
