Storm Arwen

Oh my days, it's so cold at the moment, as my mother would say it is cold enough for two pairs of knickers haha.

Last night Storm Arwen hit with vengeance. It was blowing a gale and in amongst the horizontal rain, there was sleet. It was bitterly cold also.

I was babysitting down at Sarah's so didn't get in until around 12 o'clock, before I went down I had had to retrieve my wheelie bin which had blown over manoeuvered itself along my path past my car and blown out into the street. When I returned from Sarah's I had to repeat the process haha.

Storm Arwen has caused massive damage to my garden overnight. I woke up this morning to find my 2 metal swans torn asunder, wings in bushes bodies blown into hedges, quiet the massacre. In the back garden, my beautiful 3-foot high ceramic Buddha was smashed to pieces. This is particularly upsetting for me as I bought it to create a peaceful mindful sanctuary in my garden after David passed. My next-door neighbours gazebo was doing a fab impression of an up turned turtle in their garden. My unicorn was decapitated and blown over, but she is okay now and the mother unit lost her aerial and to top it all it is bloody cold.

This afternoon I have been at another Christmas Craft Fayre toting my wares. This time it was at Polam Hall School. It was steady going in spite of the weather and I came away with a little profit.

I am now entering into the 5th night without mains lighting. I am typing this blog by candlelight which is proving more troublesome than I expected haha. The unfortunate news from my builder and electrician today was that they can't come to my house to sort it until Wednesday. I have thought about getting another electrician in but he would have to start from scratch to find the problem and that could be costly. By surviving, another couple of days with lamps and candles at least my builder and electrician from the original install will know where the junction boxes are situated in the ceiling void.
