As this morning was beautiful, I snuck into the garden to enjoy a sneaky cup of coffee, before I had to begin the prep for the Sunday lunch.
Whilst out there I decided that some of my climbers were getting a little out of order, so a couple of stainless steel hooks were screwed into my fence later, and they are back on track to climb along the fence as planned.
I have asked the guy who built my other two fences to come along next week to give me a price for the new fence which is required between my neighbour and me. I know his work and he made a great job without taking my eyes with him haha. It is the first part of the new garden renovation I am looking to move on this summer. I already have one estimate but I feel it may be a little high, so I will wait to see what Scott comes up with.
Sarah is feeling a bit better today having been able to actually get a reasonably good night's sleep. Now on to the trials and tribulations of my other child Ben. Over the last two weeks, I have told you that he is in Fuerteventura on holiday and last night he started his journey home. However, just as they were on their way to the airport they were told that there was no plane for them until today. So they were taken to another hotel for the night. At least looking on the bright side, if that is possible, they got a bed to sleep in and food last night and today. I have just heard from him, he is at the gate ready to board. However, it has had a bit of a knock-on effect at this end, it being Father's Day and Nikkis grandfathers birthday they had a family meal organised at their local golf club. Which they now cant attend. Also, they had arranged a delivery from Asda which I now have to go up to Aycliffe to accept. But at least they are on their way with fully recharged batteries after the fortnight's rest.
Last season I planted a single raspberry cane, needless to say, it didn't do much last year but this year, it's one spindly stem is dripping with raspberries. When I reimagine my garage the soft fruit section of the garden will have to be moved so I am hoping that the raspberry cane is not to upset haha.
