Having arranged to pick the mother unit up at 10 o'clock this morning for our weekly assault on the shops, I was startled when I opened my eyes to find that it was 9.05.
So a quick turn around and I was out of the door by 10.05. Mum wasn't ready so I dodged that guilt bullet haha.
As I mentioned mum is having a 90th Birthday party in March so I have been writing out the invitations. This morning I took them around to mums to get the final couple of addresses I didn't have.
Mum decided that we should hand deliver 4 of the invitations to one address but she didn't know which street it was, not very helpful, so after trying 6 streets we eventually found the front door she recognised. I told mum that she would have to phone her friend to tell her why there were invitations for 3 other people as well as her own.
At the beginning of last year, I purchased a soup maker. We had a beautiful relationship for a few months before it decided that it wouldn't cook or blend anymore soup. It has been languishing in the back of one of my kitchen cupboards since that time. However, I do miss the ease that it produced the wide variety of soups, so I have been on the lookout for another one.
This morning whilst shopping in Aldi I managed to pick up this soup maker, on the Managers Special, which is nearly identical to my old one for just £34.
As soon as I got the shopping put away this afternoon, I chopped carrots, parsnips, leeks and basil and switched it on.
22 minutes later I was treated to a beautiful mug of homemade soup which was very tasty and only 145 calories per mug, it is a shame that the blog doesn't come with smelly vision as the soup smells lush. As I have started using the Fitness Pal app again it has given me a boost without taking too much off my daily calories count.
So far my new drug Trulicity is not causing me any problems, side effects that could rear their heads were vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea and headache. So I am quite hopeful that I am going to tolerate it, only time will tell.
