Shrek the Musical - amazing

It was a very cold start to Tuesday morning this week. Very pretty patterns on the car windshield without a doubt but very cold. Thank goodness for the heated screen which Ford cars have.

I was en route early doors to visit Rita.

It was her actual birthday on Tuesday although we had celebrated in style last Friday at the theatre.

So I was on my way to deliver the birthday girl a card and gift ahead of her going out for the day with her hubby Tony. I trust she will have had a brilliant day.

On Monday I accompanied Nikki, my daughter-in-law and Robyn my granddaughter for a girlie day out in York.

The first order of the day was a visit to Kaspas in Darlington, Robyn's choice, which is a dessert-only restaurant. So chocolate strawberry crepes all around kicked the day off in style.

Next, we travelled down to York and hit the Christmas markets before taking a warm-up break in the Roman Bath pub. For those of you who don't know this pub, it has a Roman dig and museum in its cellar which you can visit. Robyn, who had just completed a Roman project at school was thrilled to actually see in person things she had been learning about. The main trip to York was to take in the musical Shrek at the Grand Opera House. I have to say it was the West End production and was amazing. We didn't get back until quarter to 12 but it was a really enjoyable day.

Christmas at the Jungalow is coming on at a pace, although now that the main lounge tree is up and the Aldi Kevin the carrot tree in the hall is finished things have slowed down as the final flourishes can't be completed until after the installation of the new log burner. So the bran tub is filled and in place and the outside lights are up and running. So there is now a pause of about 2 weeks, then more pictures haha.

On Tuesday I again hosted another very successful craft class for the U3A ladies. I had 3 ladies come to the Jungalow to learn how to make Kumihimo bracelets. Everyone went home with a bracelet they had made by the end of the session.

On Wednesday I attended the U3A Christmas Quiz at The Grange in Hurworth. I do love a quiz as it happens. It was nice to make more friends from the U3A, although we didn't win or even come close to winning haha, it was a really good afternoon.

On Thursday sleep alluded me big time. So around 4.40 Thursday into Friday I was watching the first of the snow falling hugging a cup of warm milk. I feel it was probably all part and parcel of the mild head injury I sustained last Thursday, as I have not felt 100% since. Yesterday I visited my GP to make sure everything was okay, which it was, phew. But at -5 this Saturday morning things are not much better outside brrrrr.
