I have for a long while had a little man to do my garden, his name is Ian. He used to do Mum's garden as well.
When he came for his fortnightly visit this Tuesday, we decided that he would undertake the scarey process of scarifying both the front and back lawns.
Now, I have never seen this done before, so, out came my brand spanking new scarifier and aerator machine, which, may I add, David bought about 10 years ago and has never been used.
I couldn't believe the amount of moss and detritus that can off the lawns. It filled my green wheelie bin up to the top.
The upside is that my lawn no longer feels like a memory foam mattress but the downside of it is that the lawns now look awful until they recover.
Lee and Sarah went away for their anniversary this week to Naples and they visited one of the places that is definitely on my bucket list - Pompeii
While I was in residence at Sarah's I was encouraging the boys to have a little less screen time and to join me in some crafting. They actually enjoyed the session producing several really lovely coasters.
Now during my stay, I had decided that I was going to take the easy way out and not do any major cooking in Sarah's oven. With that in mind, the boys and I made nightly trips out to our favourite local restaurants. Friday we went to The Old Farmhouse, Saturday we went to Tri Ameci, Sunday we had lunch at The Copper Beech and finally on Monday we went to Uno Memento.
Whilst the boys were dabbling with crafted coasters I undertook a serious knitting challenge. It's years since I have knitted anything, so whilst watching TV every night at Sarah's I knitted different parts to a doll of our late Queen. I love her, but so much work goes into these dolls that I guess I won't be making another one any time soon.
Now surprise, surprise, let me introduce the latest member of the Hullah family (Aycliffe Branch). His name is Frank and he is a miniature Dash hound. He is 9 weeks old and adorable. I am very tempted to have one of these for myself. but with longer hair.
Time for your mind-building challenge for this week.
Hidden amongst the cows is a little dog can you find him?
