Well, today saw the start of the new school year for my grandchildren. So, like it was yesterday, and not 7 weeks ago, I was back on the school run this morning.
The boys were super excited to be going back and insisted that we go to school a little earlier than planned.
However, it turned out to be defo the right call, I have never encountered such a shambolic free for all, in my life. Back in the days when I was teaching if the confusion on the schoolyard had happened like it did this morning, we would have got our ears in our hands to play with.
The school had sent out emails to every parent detailing the entrance and times but then changed it on the ground. Parents didn't know where to go or stand. Eventually, some teachers arrived and directed everyone away from the agreed assembly point to the schoolyard. So it was a good job we went early, but both boys are now ensconced in school and I could escape.
So the process of changing over my car began in earnest this morning, as my present car had its cherished plates swapped for the new registration, which will allow me to put the cherished plate on my new car. Hopefully, I will have the new car within the next 5 days. It is already at the garage but I am awaiting the new logbook for the Eco Sport.
Last night I was in the garden about to set the incinerator going to burn the documents I had sorted out of THE CUPBOARD!!!! when I happened to look up to my roof. I am not joking it was like a scene from the Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. It was very unnerving, to say the least. So I set the incinerator going ASAP and then high tailed it back into the house in fear of my eyes haha.
