Saying goodbye is never easy.

I feel that this meme today is very appropriate, as we say goodbye to one of the gang.

It was only a couple of months ago that Nev and Chris came up to see us for a meal out at the Mowden, he was complaining of backache and was going to see someone about it on his return home to Wokingham in Berkshire.

Sadly a couple of weeks ago Chris rang to say that after a valiant battle against kidney cancer, he had passed away. To say it was a shock is an understatement.

Today I will be joining the rest of the gang to watch the webcast of the service as covid restrictions have meant that we couldn't go down to be there in person. We will be with Chris in spirit to wish Nev on his way. However, we do have a small contingent actually attending who live close by. Just finished watching the webcast of the funeral, it was very moving and like all these events you learn so much about a person you didn't know.

Last night I set my alarm for 6.45 so that I would be up and ready for the delivery of my new oak cabinet. Well, my time slot was 7 until 10 but they never come on time so I figured I was okay. The alarm went off at 6.45 and, as I was coming around and thinking I will get up in a min, the front doorbell rang. So, I jumped out of bed and (I know this is not a good look) opened the door in my nightdress. There was the delivery man with my cabinet. So the time they took to load it off the van and bring it up the path, I was dressed and ready to tell them where to put it phew. Luckily I had paid to have them take it into the room of my choice. But I still had to unpack it and now I have the headache of getting rid of the mountain of packaging. But as you can see normal service has been resumed.

The window cleaner came today as well and as I was chatting to him in the garden I noticed that the bees were having a field day on my hebe bushes. There must have been dozens of them and they were making quite a racket. The window cleaned pointed out the bee poo which was set like concrete on my windows which had to be scrapped off. Who knew???

Yesterday I told you I was doing extensive research on the web for some exercise programmes. Well, I had been using Lesley Lansones 2 mile walking workout, but I have found this lovely Australian lady called Schellea Fowler (go on admit it you tried saying that name with an Australian accent - I know I did) who has a Youtube channel called Fabulous 50's and is designed for people over that age. It has also many different exercises and a whole section on makeup application for older eyes and faces haha. Sounds gross but actually, it is a really good site. Anyway, I did the 30 min full-body walking workout this morning and really enjoyed it so here is the link if you want to try it yourselves.
