On Friday I attended another luncheon club with the u3a. These events seem to come around very quickly, although I am assured it has been a month since Tre Ameci haha.
Well, the Chequers at Dalton is defo a blast from the past, it used to be a favourite location of Dave and me back in the day.
I have to say it has changed many times over the years but still retains its quirky character and still serves up great food.
I went for the classic fish pie.
My word was the portion humongous haha. So a family-sized portion of mashed potato and three additional roast potatoes on the side along with carrots and peas.
Nevertheless, it was delicious and had a goodly amount of fish (three different types) and prawns in the sauce.
At only £13.50 it was excellent value as well.
Monday morning bright and early my roofers arrived. By the end of the morning, they had removed the back roof and all the old batons. Then they started to cover the roof in the new felt. Great guys cleaning as they went couldn't ask for more.
By Friday they had fully prepped the back of the roof and stripped off the roof down the side. Re-felted it and put down new batons and got the new tiles on up to the ridge. Such lovely lads can't fault them. They estimate that they will be finished by next Friday, which is great.
I do like a plant in the bedroom, so I was researching which plants would look nice whilst being beneficial to health, So here is a list of 6 easily purchased plants and the benefits they would bring to your bedroom.
Lavender
There’s no better place to grow this plant than in your bedroom because of its calming effects on the body. All it takes is a nice big whiff of lavender to help soothe your nervousness, depression, insomnia, or anxiety.
Spider plants
are an air-purifying plant that has been proven to remove airborne toxins in any room it is placed in. It works to remove formaldehyde and carbon monoxide from the air in your bedroom. Formaldehyde is a toxic gas that can irritate your throat, nose, and eyes. This colourless gas can be found in a number of household products including fabrics, paper products, and particleboard.
Boston Fern
This type of fern works great for removing toxins in the air including xylene and formaldehyde. Since it’s a natural humidifier, it works great to help alleviate dry skin. This is great for those who are running air-conditioning around the clock. Having a couple of these ferns hanging around ensures the room stays moisturized alongside your skin.
Aloe Vera
It produces extra oxygen at night, so like the other plants listed, it will purify the air in your bedroom while you sleep.
Snake Plant
Apart from removing carbon dioxide, this plant also removes harmful toxins including toluene, xylene, benzene, trichloroethylene, and formaldehyde. The snake plant truly is the best plant for air purification to help you breathe better indoors.
Ivy
The most popular thing about this plant is that it helps people with breathing conditions such as asthma, COPD, and bronchitis. It naturally relaxes the airways and reduces the amount of coughing a person experiences. This makes it perfect to put in your bedroom to help you sleep at night.
