Remembering Kaye

I defo do write things down, My calendar is littered with superfluous information, which today has been super helpful.

I don't know if you remember because I did mention it in a blog but on Sept 8th Last year I was off to have coffee with my friend Kaye. I couldn't get an answer at her door so tried neighbours to see if they had seen her.

So long story short, when we did eventually gain access we found her in bed having some sort of episode. I was instructed to do CPR on her by the emergency services and continue until the ambulance arrived. My friend survived and I feel partly because of my intervention. Sadly Kaye only lived on for another 8 weeks, but I was able to talk to her during that time. So why am I telling you all this today? Well at 3 o'clock this afternoon, I am invited to a remembrance get together at the Mowden Pub for all the people friends, work collegues and relatives, that knew her and couldn't celebrate her life because of Covid. It will be the first time maybe in the 3 and a half years since Davids passing that I will meet up with some of Davids drinking buddies as Kaye was a regular in our Friday and Saturday night circle.

Now Kaye was a bit of a crafter and she had been experimenting with empty wine bottles and thin tissue napkins. There was one of these bottles on each table this afternoon and I was given this one to bring home.

So at 11.00 this morning we put the mother unit on the train bound for kings cross. She is going to be away for 3 glorious weeks. She had the full-on pamper treatment at the station in Darlington and at Kings cross where my cousin and her husband were there to pick her up. The last picture is mum getting the Essex treatment and being spoiled already haha. I hope she enjoys her time at Auntie Alices I know that Sue and I will.
