Remembering 😢💔

Two years ago today we lost my little sister Sandra to cruel cancer which she had bravely battled for more than 20 years.

She is missed every day by my sister and me and the mother unit. Mum has a beautiful Fatsia plant in her garden in a pot which she has called Sandra.

This plant is extremely healthy with massive shiny leaves. Mum claims that it is because she talks to it every day.

I don't know about that but mum is doing something right as the plant looks fab.

Tonight Mum, Sue and I will be going out for a meal together, initially to celebrate all our birthdays which we have had so far this year, but also to remember Sandra. It is a tradition which we have always done in the past, but since losing Sandra has gone on the back burner.

This afternoon whilst the sun shone I have been attempting to finish painting the trellis and roof rafters of my she shed.

Everything was going swimmingly until it started to rain. But I wasn't concerned as I was convinced that I had covered everything.

Looking out of my kitchen window after cleaning the brushes I noticed that I have missed a 2-foot section of the roof and some little noggins on the front edge. Well, I am not getting the paint out again today so I will have to remember to do it another day.

Last Saturday Sarah came for a coffee and we sat out in my new space.

She loved it but asked what I was going to do with the very damaged and frankly dangerous crazy paving. I told her that I had arranged for a guy (one of my neighbours actually) to come down and repair it for me.

She suggested an alternative, which to be honest I am rather taken with. She said that I should take the path up altogether and continue the pebbled area up to the base of the shed.

As you can see from the picture I think that would make a very pleasing improvement and will only cost me the cost of the gravel.

I wondered how I would get rid of said paving which is beautifully weathered stone. Facebook Marketplace to the rescue. I advertised the path for free on Sunday and I have a man who wants it coming tomorrow. He is aware that it is still a path and that he will have to lift it himself haha. But as the path is very loose it shouldn't take much effort. So I am hopeful that he will take it up and away.
