Well, it is Bonfire Night and this year has been hurtling along at a stupid pace and now we are closing in on the big man in the red suit, so where has this year bloody gone?
I will be staying in tonight, with no displays to go to or invites to anyone's bonfire party, besides it is far too cold out and about. I have had to defrost the car twice already this week, which is always a sign that winter is coming (anyone notice the Game of Thrones quote there?)
Well, it was a weird start this morning as I had parcels to take to the post office, petrol to get for the car and then I had a car full of charity stuff to drop off. Then it was back over this side of the town to pick Sue and Jeff up to take them to the station. Only then could the mother unit and I go and do our normal shop. However, we still had time to take in Poundland haha before Aldi.
As part of the upcoming festivities, Rita and I, are well into planning our social gathering for the gang. This morning, I was purchasing pizes for a new game, which I will introduce our friends to on the 20th of December, probably between the starter and main course haha.
I was heartened to learn after talking to my grandsons, that they have been taught about Guy Fawkes and the Gun Powder Plot in school this week. What was even more amazing was the fact that they could tell me all about it.
Leighton even added the name of the correct king who Guy Fawkes was targeting.
I was also told that they are learning about poppy Day and what it means.
So a couple of weeks ago Harry had made a request to begin learning the Saxophone at school.
As he had tried the violin I wasn't holding out much hope. A couple of Christmases ago he asked and received an electric guitar and amplifier. Which he hasn't really played. He was bought a violin, which I sold on after he went off the idea. So imagine my surprise tonight when he walked in all excited to show me his latest acquisition.
So for the past half hour, I have been treated to a single note which he learned today and a variety of other notes which he was randomly playing. At one point he decided to go outside and serenade the street haha.
