This morning as I languished in bed, you know that time when the alarm goes off, and you ignore it ever happened haha, and the time you actually get up, I decided that I would try and reclaim the black hole aka the cupboard in the corner of my new kitchen.
Now it houses my extensive wreath collection - sad I know - also my long winter coats, my surplus booze - is there such a thing and various other bits and pieces.
Well over the last few months I have literally opened the door - well technical to be accurate slide it along, and deposited things just in the doorway. Yesterday I was annoyed with myself as I had to pick my way over the dumped mess to find what I wanted. So that is why it was on the to-do list this morning. It actually didn't take long to clean it out and I think you will agree it looks so much better.
A while ago I bought some coconut halves which were filled with suet. The birds both big and small lapped them up and soon made short work of them. I had taken them down and was about to throw them away when I had an epiphany haha. I had bought suet balls to put in the feeders but they seemed to be ignored by the birds and ended up going black and crusty. So my creative brain went into overdrive and I squashed 2 suet balls into each half shell put them in the microwave for 1 minute to soften them and then smoothed them into the shells with the back of a spoon. Hey, presto suet coconut shells are ready to go.
As my son-in-law is away on business I have the added task this lunchtime of going down to Sarah's to let the delinquent dog out for a wee.
This morning I was again on bolstering duty with Harry. I told him that he would be fine and reminding him what he should be doing in his reading comprehension Sat today. Whether he took any of it in I don't know I will have to wait and see what his verdict was when he returns to my house after school this afternoon.
