Today my children and I remembered Dave.
It was four years ago that we lost him and time has just gotten away from us.
Ben raised a glass to his dad by the pool in Fuerteventura, as he is on holiday.
Sarah and I took the new flowers to the cemetery this morning and spent time having a chat with him before heading out to what was supposed to be a nice breakfast, but in actual fact, which was probably more appropriate, we ended up having a pub lunch at the White Hefer and raising a glass or two of shandy to Dave.
I have to thank all those who remembered what today was and sent wishes for me and my family, I really do appreciate the sentiments.
This morning Harry, my eldest grandson, headed off to camp with the rest of the year 6's.
He was super excited to be going on an adventure for 3 days. However, his brother Leighton had a few tears and said he would miss him and that he would get him a present for his return haha.
Harry has gone to Carleton Lodge which is an outward bound type set up where they will do woodcraft, orienteering, canoeing and many other activities.
I think Sarah was more upset that he was leaving her than he was at leaving them haha
Over the weekend my neighbour Toby showed me his little visitor, to his garden. To be honest it is a rare sight these days to see hedgehogs but he is taking it seriously even sending away for special hedgehog food.
After the Jubilee party on Sunday, there have been a plethora of items which have mysteriously found their way to the Jungalow.
So this afternoon I rounded all the bits and bobs up and set out to return them.
At the first house, I returned a very nice wine glass which I had found in a bush, I was given a cup of latte and a lovely begonia plant as a thank you for organising the event.
Next, I dropped off a silver platter and a cake slice and was again offered refreshments, this time it was red wine. So we sat in the garden and enjoyed our wine for 30 minutes. Lastly, I had my final stop to drop off some serviettes and a plate, again I was asked in for refreshments, but I really had to get home to sort out the Jungalow so I declined haha.
