Pyrograhpy

Today is the 15th of February and it is the official end of the Chinese New Year.

All over the world, the Chinese people will be holding a lantern festival. As you can see even the Minions get in on the act, well that is your helping of trivia for today enjoy haha.

Had a busy day doing not a lot again today, did some exercises, focusing on the abs, waist and tummy at the moment in an effort to get into my posh frock for the mother unit's 90th birthday party.

Also felt inspired to write so I have added another 1000words to my latest book.

Mind you there is still quite a way to go before I can call it a novel haha. So classifications according to WritingSmarter.com are as follows:-

At present, my word count is 30,423 so more than a Novelette but less than a novel. So I am presently sitting on a novella, but only need another couple of 1000 or so words to tip me over into my first novel. It is surprising how long it takes to get to 40,000 words plus. But this time I still have a long way to go to complete the storyline so I am feeling really positive that it will be a novel.

After lunch, I returned to the craft room for another crafting session. All of the handpainted baubles which I varnished the other day are now rock hard, so one of my tasks this morning was to put the hanging strings on them, then pack them away for the start of this years craft fayre season.

Now as you know I do have a lot of different crafts which I can lay my hand to so this morning I wheeled out my Pyrography kit, Pyrography is the art of burning designs into pieces of wood. I did a few simple practice pieces before attempting a large piece that had more details. I am really pleased with my efforts and they now need varnishing. However, I had to stop the process after 30 minutes as the burning iron was getting very hot and uncomfortable to hold haha.

Now you may be wondering in amongst all of these hobby activities when I do my housework. Well, as I dislike doing housework, I am certainly not going to report it in my blog, but folks rest assured I do housework and I am not sitting blithely in a midden crafting haha as much as I would like to, for one thing, the mother unit and Sarah would be horrified and I would get a right talking to.
