Paper hanging.

Well, not quite taking over the world, but I did do some wallpapering, it's a start I know haha. Was up and showered and ready for the boys by 8 o'clock. I had a definite plan for my day.

1. Give the boys breakfast

2. Take the boys to school

3. Wallpaper the chimney breast in the lounge

4. Go for petrol

5. Take the mother unit to Ferryhill to have her toenails clipped (eewwu)

6. Provide mum with her tea - and then breath haha.

Many years ago my father who was a Master Painter and Decorator back in the day taught his 3 daughters the art of painting and decorating, which included how to hang wallpaper. I have never employed anyone since to hang paper for me. I have gone on to teach my children to hang wallpaper, although Sarah still prefers me to do it for her haha. I have for some time thought that the lounge paper was a little bland. It was a nice enough scandie design but it was very grey, see the first picture. When I got my new curtains a couple of years ago I decided that I needed a change. It has taken me this long to find a wallpaper to match.

I eventually found a good match to the curtains from a German firm called Bricoleur. The only thing is that they for some reason wind their wallpaper backwards, so that was the first thing I had to do. I am super pleased with the results even though I say so myself. The overall effect brightens the lounge up even in natural daylight which was the look I was going for. You will also notice that the quartz island came in good as a pasting table haha.

My curtains are the same flowers as the paper but slightly more pink and purple.
