Painting up a storm

This was me for most of the day today. Whilst I am not going to show you pictures of the new space until it is finished, I will keep you up to date with my progress.

So around 10 o'clock this morning I started work painting the frame of the garage. The paint I was using was the garden range from Johnsons and was called Spring Rosemary. It is actually a really lovely colour, very subtle green, the cool thing about it is it looks different shades depending on if the sun is shining or not.

Well, I beavered away and had a thought that it must be near to lunchtime and was absolutely shocked that it was 2.30 when I checked. That saying of time passes quickly when you are having fun, must be right.

Anyway back to yesterday. As I hinted it was a very traumatic night for all concerned. Sarah and Leighton were in hospital and I was looking after Harry. I was in contact with Sarah into the early hours of this morning supporting her and she was giving me regular updates.

At one point they tried to get a line in to give him some fluids but he was so dehydrated that his veins kept collapsing. I finally got a couple of hours sleep but was woken up at 5.45 by Sarah telling me that they had been discharged. So a very early start this morning for everyone.

When I finally got home this morning I decided to lay on my bed and try to get a few zzzzz. 2 hours later a delivery man woke me haha. But even with a couple of hours I still feel rung out. I would love an early night but that's not going to happen until I have been to retrieve the mother unit from her sisters at 9.45.

Now Scott my lovely odd job man made an excellent job of stripping down the garage but the mountain of rubbish that was left behind was horrific. So I hired a Man with a Van and he turned up yesterday afternoon and took the lot away. I have to say it was fascinating watching him load up his van, he used every single piece of space and even managed to get an old chair in which I was throwing out.

Yesterday afternoon Sue accompanied me to a nursery in Heighton who had made me my trellising for the new space. Well to say it was a challenge to get it into the back of the car even with the seats flat was an understatement but we managed and they are now awaiting fixing by my lovely son Ben, (I know he reads the blog so I have to be super nice to him haha)

This afternoon the roof trusses were delivered so things are moving at a pace and I will soon be unveiling my space.

I made myself sweet and sour chicken yesterday for my tea but didn't get to eat it with all the excitement so I am just waiting for a couple of jacket potatoes to cook and then I will have yesterday's tea haha.
