Officially out

Had a very lazy start to this morning having spent the night dreaming I would wake this morning with Covid.

Needless to say, I woke just fine and am still negative. Only one day to go and then I can move on with caution.

So I woke at 9 and didn't get out of my pit until 10.40, it was warm and cosy and I was revisiting a favourite programme, Homes Under the Hammer, which |I hadn't watched for absolute ages.

After my foray with the Diabetic nurse yesterday and her suggestion that I seek the counsel of a doctor to discuss the ongoing side effects of the Canniflozin drug I am taking for my diabetes, it was one of the first things I booked when I finally got myself up this morning. Also as suggested I'm drinking more water which should also elevate the side effects.

I guess I am officially out of the EU. Having changed my passport last year it only left my driving licences to be updated. The licence itself had a couple of months to run but I was advised to have it renewed sooner rather than later. So folk here it is all shiny new and very colourful.

Last night I headed up to Ben and Nikki's to take them a housewarming gift I had bought them.

As it was a dreaded flat-pack Ben soon got to work building it. I have to say it was a wonder watching him as I would not have had a clue. In no time at all he had it built. In one of the pictures, you can see the playful scowl on Bens face as Nikki jumped in at the last minute so that she could claim that she had a hand in its construction haha. The shoe rack was then placed in the hall where I think you will agree it looks perfect.

Tonight at 5.30 I am back on Governor duty. I am sitting on a permanent exclusion panel for a yr6 child at Polam Hall. Reading the incident file this morning was quite an eye-opener, made all the worse because I knew this child when he was 4 at the playgroup I helped run.

To finish today the weather in Darlington has been bitterly cold. Cars with fully frosted windscreens and glittery shrubs early morning. Now today we have had snow flurries on and off all day BBBRRRRR. Not quite as dramatic as the GIF but it wouldn't surprise me if we are in for some significant white stuff soon. Dave used to always say, look at the weather in New York and then add 2 or 3 weeks and we will be getting it here. So record snowfalls in New York this week, make your own conclusions from that.
