Oh my goodness what a beautiful day we have had. The temperature this afternoon managed to crawl into double figures and the sun shone all day and at 4.00 this afternoon it is still shining.
I don't know about you but a bit of sunshine perks me up no end. I start looking out of the window at my garden and thinking of all the things that I can get my gardener to do haha. Of course, I will do some myself but I am still in winter hibernation mode at the moment. Probably on Sunday weather permitting, when it is officially the first day of Spring I may venture out to do some work in the garden myself.
When I first bought the Jungalow there was a rainbow maker hanging in the conservatory. It was very old and didn't work properly anymore so I began a search to replace it. The actual piece of kit has a sucker to attach it to the window and a solar fired mechanism that tuns two prism crystal pendants to catch the sun. I managed to get one last year and today it suddenly burst into life as the sun was high enough and in the right position to activate the mechanism.
It is so cheerful watching the rainbows which it creates track across the room. My pictures don't do it justice I have to say.
In fact, my photograph is rubbish and it doesn't look as impressive as it actually is, bummer. But never mind I am super pleased that I managed to find a replacement for the original.
Well, tomorrow I hope that Ben is going to come over and we can start phase two of the clean up the smelly kitchen job. I purchased a huge bag of wood sawdust today which Ben thinks will be perfect to soak up some of the liquid and slug once we get access to the underfloor void. We will just have to wait and see. If this attempt fails the only recourse would be to rip out that side of the new kitchen to access the floor but the damage will be extensive and If that is the case I will be looking at my house insurance to cover the cost.
