This is exactly how I feel at this moment in time haha because the garage is finally cleared and clean.
All that is left is a few bits which I have up for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Last night I was in quite a bit of pain with my back and knees I had defo overdone it big time.
So now I just need to wait until my odd job man Scott can come back and continue on with the garage conversion. Now that the place is empty I can see how big the space actually is. I am so excited to see it with the side cladding removed. Mind you I may take one look at it and decide that I don't like it after all but then it will be an easy job to take down the frame and dispose of the wood. But I am hopeful that it will look fab as I have some great ideas formulating for internal decor haha.
This morning I was listening out for the dulcet tones of the rag and bone man. He comes round once a week. I heard him coming so rushed out to the front gate to offer him my rusty old cast iron pot-bellied stove and a broken metal garden chair.
He was happy to take them haha. Just as he was loading on the stove I spied an old lawn mower and asked if I could have it. Of course, I don't want the mower just the handle. I have a scarifier and aerator machine which is new but during the move from Carmel Road the lower half of the handle went missing rendering it unusable. Well, now my brother-in-law Jeff has retrofitted the rag and bone man's lawn mower handle to my machine and hey presto it is working perfectly. I will leave the lawn mower on the front next Monday and he will remove it. So the job is a good one.
Tonight I have been to Polam Hall School, carrying out my final duty as a governor. I resigned last week but was asked to go along to the art exhibition and then to attend a drinks reception, ahead of the final Academy Council meeting of the year. I told the chair that I would attend but would not be staying for the meeting. As I was about to leave I was presented with a lovely bunch of flowers and a card thanking me for my involvement with the school. I will be sad to leave but it was getting crazy the number of meetings, committees etc which I had to attend.
This morning I dropped Harry off at Carmel School, for his first induction day ahead of him moving up to year 7 in September. He was a little apprehensive this morning but when I went to pick him up this afternoon he was all smiles. He had thoroughly enjoyed the day and had made a few friends from his new form. He had tasted life as a senior doing four lessons. He also managed to tear his five-pound note in half at lunchtime which caused a bit of a stir haha.
