Last night when I returned from Sarah's the Jungalow had an awful smell when I opened the front door.
As it was late I thought that it must be the pedal bin in the kitchen so I just picked it up and put it outside the back door, then I was off to bed.
However, this morning when I woke I realised that I had not solved the smelly problem the night before.
So I went on a smell hunt, entering each room in the jungalow in turn and getting down and personal with nooks and crannies haha.
Sometime later having sniffed and checked the Jungalow to within an inch of its life, I found myself in the kitchen. More sniffing led me to the cupboards under the sink. Oh my, oh my what a whiff.
I quickly emptied out the cupboard of all the cleaning materials and as I did the smell became worse. The smell in question was a mixture of garbage, poo and mould. Not pleasant at all. Anyway having emptied out the cupboard I was able to see that the back corner had some residue around one of the holes which a pipe lead down. Couldn't decide if it was mouse droppings or dead miniature flies. Over the last few weeks, there has been a plague of said miniature flies in my kitchen so maybe something sinister is going on under the cupboard. Ben advised me to take off the front kickboard and shine a torch in. I have to say I was not looking forward to doing it as I am a bit squeamish, and you can imagine my relief when I discovered that my kitchen fitter had made such a good job of fitting the kickboards that I could not get them off. So Ben is coming around tomorrow morning to have a look for me, So watch the space.
So I have not been across the door again today and have spent most of my day sniffing and cleaning, so now I am going to sit and watch a couple of recorded programmes and try to forget the Jungalow indeed smells like a Jungle tonight haha.
