Nightmare shopping trip

Most definitely the mantra for today.

I left the house this morning at 10 o'clock to go take the mother unit shopping and returned at 2 o'clock, yes, a blissful 4 hours looking around Aldi, Poundland and a charity shop - NOT!!!! I have most definitely lost the will to live today.

But of course, I can hear you all shouting but you need to eat and you need to get groceries, and I would have to agree wholeheartedly with you, but it does wear a little thin after such a prolonged shop haha.

Now if that wasn't enough to make my morning this next part of the blog will be.

As we were walking back from the charity shop to the car, mum misjudged the curb and took a fall. Luckily a passer-by helped me get her up off the deck. She seemed okay and we walked back to the car. When I got in the car I asked her if she was okay again and where she had hit when she went down. She said my arm is hurting but other than that I'm okay. So I roll up her sleeve to have a look as you do and was shocked to see a gash some 3 inches long on her forearm. Because of her age mums, skin is paper-thin and tears very easily. So although she didn't break anything she did graze and tear the skin on her arm badly. I rushed back into the pound shop to see if they carried bandages but no they did not. But a nice lady coming out of the shop told me that she had a first aid kit in her car and off she went to get it. We managed to clean mum up and wrap her arm. I thanked said lady profusely. When we got home I redressed the arm and put a bandage on to protect it. I thought that maybe a visit to the nurse at her practice would be in order and maybe they would have better dressings. After listening to the introductory schpiel about coronavirus (2.57 minutes) then selecting to be put through to the receptionist (30 seconds) a pre-recorded message (1.20 minutes) came on to say that they were short-staffed and if it wasn't an emergency to ring off. So you can't even get to talk to the receptionist at mums doctors now shocking. As it wasn't an emergency really, I told mum that we would keep an eye on it and if needs be I would take her to A&E. So a very eventful morning I think you will agree.
