Good morning bloggers I have to say it was a very chilly start today. It was so cold that my heating which has been sleeping for the Summer kicked in and I was surprised that the jungalow felt quite cosy and warm when I woke this morning.
When the grandson arrived before school they immediately took off their coats and draped them over the radiator to warm up for when they would be going off to school.
Tonight I will be taking Harry to one of his twice-weekly Basketball sessions. His mum will meet me at the venue and do a hostage exchange with Leighton then I will be free to come home haha.
Last night my Nest camera on my front doorbell logged movement around 8 o'clock. Looking at the footage I thought that it was a rat creeping about on my front. On closer inspection, it was an adorable, if not rare sight these days, hedgehog. I quickly got some shoes on and went outside to track it down. It took a bit of finding as they can move at quite a lick when they want to, but hog located and my camera at the ready I was able to snap these lovely pictures.
Isn't it amazing the quality of cameras on mobiles these days? In the past, this sort of close upshot would have had to be captured on expensive cameras.
So a couple of weeks ago Sarah brought me two carrier bags of veg she had been given at work. One contained green tomatoes and the other beetroot. Well in the interim the green tomatoes have all ripened and have been eaten, so no green chutney. This morning I decided that I would cook and pickle the beetroot.
That beetroot looks yummy - I just love it, I can just eat it straight from the jar. A pity that John doesn't like it, so many foods I miss out on!
