Yet another fun-packed morning ahead of me haha.
This morning the main fly in the ointment was to take the mother unit for her toenails to be cut. I have to say it is not for the faint-hearted, she would put an eagle's talons to shame. The reason they are as long and overgrown is because of Covid. The podiatry services shut down over the worst part of Covid and only opened back up a couple of months ago. Well as you can imagine they have a huge backlog of toes to clip before they catch up. I felt so sorry for mum just before she went down to Essex for her little holiday, as they had grown so long that she was in pain when she walked, so I actually cut her nails the best I could (not something I would want to repeat any time soon lol). But today she has had them done professionally.
The other day I was beginning extremely public serviced in that I informed you of the number of days left until Christmas, well FYI there is now only 144 days, but I don't know if you know but Movies 24 during the month of July show back to back Christmas movies, it is apply called Christmas in July and yes you would be correct to assume that I would be partaking of this service. I have sadly 30 Christmas films recorded to enjoy at my leisure. But it's my thing, it goes well with my choice of Christmas themed genre I read on my kindle.
When I was a mum's over lunchtime I noticed this strange-looking insect. It wasn't a wasp or bee, I don't think, but it had a see-through body and strange stripey wings. It was about 4cm in length so not a little insect by any means. It buzzed like a bee or wasp but as I say it didn't look like one. If anyone can enlighten me as to what it is I would be very interested. I have asked Dr Google and he doesn't think it is a Bee or a wasp judging by the pictures he showed me but it could be a Hoverfly. The good news is if it is a hoverfly then it doesn't sting and is good for the garden even though it looks like a wasp.
So tonight it is my turn to feed the mother unit again ahead of our weekly gambling habit haha. So I am just off now to put a couple of chicken legs on to cook before I go and collect her.
