Well it has been yet another lovely day. Not as warm or hot as it has been in London, as my son Ben keeps pointing out. He is on a four day mini break visiting in laws in and around Kent. He sent some pictures through of their day they spent in central London and he was telling me it was 24 degrees.
It hasn't been that hot here but lovely none the less.
So having had a good nights sleep I woke this morning full of vim and vigour. I mapped out my day and then got on with it haha.
So first off I put a large gammon joint in the slow cooker ahead of Easter Monday olympics and tea at the Jungalow. Next I prepared all the equipment I would need to run the Easter Olympics for the children. Then it was time to go to my sister Sues for lunch with the mother unit, very nice indeed, thank you Sue.
When I returned home I decided that since it was early afternoon and the sun was still shining that I would do some gardening. I was in the mood to do the borders, a huge job after the winter, but now I have got the long one sorted so next time I have some sunny weather I will do one of the other ones.
At the end of last season I purchased a weed burner. It was still in its box unused until this afternoon when I took it out assemble it and burnt the hell out some ground elder and dandalions that were growing through me crazy paving.
I have to say I was really impressed and it was very satisfying to see the bain of my gardening life, AKA Ground Elder, shrivel up and burn.
I have to say however, I didn't vamoose all the things that had decided to seed and grow through my crazy paving. I have lovely clumps of Forget-Me-Knots which have seeded from the other borders and are now growing through the crazy paving. Of course they will be pulled out as soon as they have stopped flowering, as they die, but don't dispair they will return next year bigger and better haha.
After an hour I had completed the border and then decided that it was time to pack up and go and prepare something else for tomorrows tea.
So what am I going to make, corned beef pie yummy.
