Well, it was all systems go last night, after mum and I had finished our meal I got a phone call from Sarah saying that her car had died on her and was stuck on Haughton Road.
So I took the boys home and mum and I continued onto her house to play our weekly games of cards with my sister Sue.
This was at 7 o'clock. Sarah phoned to update us on the situation around 8 o'clock, she told us she was freezing in her car and that it would probably be 9 o'clock at the earliest before the breakdown truck would arrive from Stockton.
So I drove over to where she was with a warm coat and the car heaters on full blast.
Just as I arrived at the location of the break down the breakdown truck arrived. The guy was able to forcibly unstick the clutch peddle from where it had jammed and start the engine, to allow him to put it on the truck. He told Sarah that there must be something really wrong with the clutch as it was binding, I have to say you could smell it. I then took Sarah home and returned to my card game. So all in all Sarah had been stranded for about 3 hours.
This morning as a knock-on effect of last night I was delivered one small grandson to take to school whilst Sarah took the other one to the opticians.
We are entering into the "work quicker Alan the mess is getting on my nerves" phase of the kitchen refit. I am so impatient, I want it finished yesterday, haha but we ladies are like that.
I bought a unit for my kitchen and spent some time putting it together. I am really pleased with the results.
unfortunately, we hit a big problem today. Alan was plumbing in the tumble drier and washing machine. Tumbler went in no problem but the washing machine wouldn't fit in the hole which had been made for it. When the island was measured up for these units the carcass was measured but the door sticking out was omitted from the calculations. Long story short the unit doors will not close so, it is possible that I will have to leave them off. It is not ideal but it doesn't look half bad either.
