MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone
I hope you all have had as good a Christmas as I have.
Too much drink - tick,
Loads of goodies - tick,
Masses of delicious food - tick,
Precious time with family and friends - tick.
I spent Christmas Eve at Ben and Nikki's, Ben made a fabulous chicken curry with coconut rice and we spent the rest of the night playing games it was great. Christmas morning saw the excitement of the present opening and an annual treasure hunt for the kids. Even Frank got in on the act and carefully shredded all the wrapping paper into small, manageable pieces for disposal. He then went on to rain carnage on his new Christmas present toys haha. As you can see I have been kitted out with a new dressing gown and slippers.
After leaving the madness of Bens I went to join my Daughter Sarah for the rest of the day. Suitably booted and suited I arrived at Sarah's to do present exchanges with her, Lee and the boys, before indulging in the first of many Prosecco's of the day.
We started lunchtime with a trip to the Cricket Club and more Prosecco haha before walking into the centre of the town for our Christmas dinner at Tre Amecia. It was the first time we had done this and I was very sceptical about whether I would enjoy it. Although the food and company were very nice it still didn't give me that family vibe, luckily Sarah felt the same, so I guess next year we will be returning to the traditional at-home meal yippee. Of course, there was more Prosecco consumed during the meal. Later, back at Sarah's, we played games and had more Prosecco with cheese and biscuits haha.
This was my Christmas Day meal, Prawn Cocktail, Turkey Dinner and Creme Brulee, delicious but far too much to eat.
Boxing Day saw me entertaining at home I was joined by Ben and his family, Sarah and her family and Steven and Faisel. A smallish group with big appetites and voices haha. Again we had games and plenty of drinks judging by the amount of beer and wine bottles I put out this morning.
It seems that there was a certain theme running through the presents I received this year. I got a Nutcracker Lego soldier, which Harry built for me, Nutcracker sweets and biscuits and a Nutcracker hall runner which I love. As for the clip in the last photograph, that is my son-in-law Lee trying on a makeup removal set wrongly might I add haha.
Finally, I received a lovely gift from my brother and sister-in-law, John and Irene a couple of days before Christmas - beautiful.
Next week, I will report on the Gang Do at the Sidings and of course New Year's Eve shenanigans.
