Mentioned in dispatches

The weekly principal's newsletter landed in my inbox yesterday from Polam Hall. I had a quick read-through for old time's sake and was very touched when there was a whole paragraph dedicated to yours truly.

The principal was telling the parents that I was leaving and that I had served the school well over the last 2 years and was thanking me for my involvement.

Then this morning I received an official Polam Hall greetings card in the post from the head and deputy with more thanks.

I am beginning to feel guilty that I have left them, then I think of all the extra work I will not be doing on a voluntary basis then I give my head a wobble and move on.

When I was at my other governor school (Hurworth Primary) on Wednesday I informed the head that I had resigned from Polam and she rubbed her hands together declaring, so does that mean we have your undivided attention haha.

This morning I visited the mother unit to see if she was feeling better after her unfortunate bout of motion sickness on the coach home yesterday, she said she was fine but tired, I asked if she wanted a ride out to the local charity shop haha, now usually she is there with bells on, but this morning she said she would come for the company and just sit in the car whilst I took the things in that I was donating. So defo not over the journey yet.

Tonight I am sitting on babies again. This time Sarah's boys will be coming to the Jungalow for a sleepover.

Now those who know me well know how impatient I am, well this afternoon I was taking the adornments off the outside of the garage ahead of the stripping next week when I decided to see what the space was going to look like with the front panels off. I only managed to remove 5 or 6 panels but it was enough for me to see what it may look like.

As you can see from the second photograph the tantalising view I am going to gain of the garden when the job is complete.
