What a night I put in last night. I felt tired around 11.30 so took myself off to bed. Well, at 3.30 this morning I was still awake having read most of my kindle novelle. But sleep still illuded me.
Whilst I was lying there I was working out the menu for today's tea. Decision made I got up and went to retrieve the puff pastry from the freezer so that it would be defrosted to use today. So today as you can imagine I am more than a little tired
This afternoon I made mince and onion pie. Unfortunately, mother didn't like it as it was too dry, which I might add it wasn't, but she pushed it around the plate until I took it off her.
So what else have |I done today? This morning I was taking the mother unit to the doctor for a B12 injection. Then I had some stuff to pick up at Matalan, so she came with me. On returning to her house she made me a sandwich and a cuppa for my lunch. I tried on the clothes that I had purchased and promptly took over half of them back this afternoon. So the tea debacle is over and mum is loading the dishwasher (Oh I fear for my china haha) then it will be back to hers for cards.
Last night I finally got the last element to allow me to put together the commemorative gifts for the Elton Grove children which will be handed out during the street party on the 5th of June. I had already designed the wrapper for the chocolate but decided that it was too purple, haha, so I did a quick redesign and I have to say it has turned out better than the first effort. The last picture is a reminder of that first wrapper. So the children will have a silver mirrored token and an enamelled badge presented in an organza bag and the wrapped bar of chocolate.
Sarah has asked me to wrap some chocolate bars for the children attending her event next Friday. So a quick revamp of the wrapper to include her street name and hey presto all done.
Most of the craft materials have arrived for me to make the Jubilee wreath that I am planning for my front door, so watch this space.
In the post today I received a handwritten thank you card from the head of Polam Hall. It was so nice to actually receive a physical thank you instead of an email, for help with the Sats and the interviews I was involved with last week.
