I was like a man on a mission this morning after the school run haha.
Last week I reported that Poundstretchers was closing down and many bargin could be bought.
Whilst I was there last week I noticed all the party stuff, paper plates, platters, plastic cutlery that sort of thing, so this morning my mission was to secure some small paper plates for the desserts and birthday cake at mums upcoming 90th birthday party. Of course it would be rude not to look around the store at the same time. Yes you guessed it I secured a good few prizes for next christmases party games.
Oh my days, yesterday afternoon I took the mother unit and my niece and her family up to West Whitton, to attend a surprise birthday party for my sister Sue. Whilst the pub, The Fox and Hounds, was lovely very oldie worldie, the journey up there was horrendous. Now I don't particularly like driving after dark, but soon realised that the road to West Whitton was very twisty turny and I was getting ever more nervous about navigating said roads after dark. To make things more exciting it began to snow haha. Anyway, the surprise party was thawted by my sister, we were all in the back room (the snug which we had decorated) waiting for her and her husband to arrive and then the plan was to shout surprise, as you do, well she just appeared in the door way and surprised all of us. Our apparent look out failed miserably. But we had a lovely meal and drinks even taking in a few games before heading off home. I have to say the journey was not to bad courtesy of the excellent main beams on my new car haha. So here are a few pics as promised.
The mother unit looks like Little Miss Muffet, it took a lot of persuation to get her to leave the seat by the fire and join us at our table haha. Camera angle is so important which is something people should consider as I look like a giant next to my mother and Sue. The cake was a great hit, even the chef from the pub had and enjoyed a piece.
