Lovely neighbours

Unfortunately, I sometimes fall into the category mentioned in the meme opposite and I know that it takes supreme effort on Bens part to talk me through things, which he finds easy but I find a challenge. Maybe when he reads the blog tonight he will get the hint haha.

This morning I was up and at it by 8.30, felt really smug about that after languishing in bed until after 9.30 for the past few weeks until I rang the mother unit and she informed me that she had been up since 4 o'clock. I asked her if she had gone back to bed but she said no I just slept in my chair in the lounge.

When I went around to pick her up she was complaining about being tired, to which I answered well you would be having been up so early and sleeping upright in a chair.

Our outing this morning was to the Salvation Army Donation Centre in North Road. Mother does like a good charity shop haha. I was actually checking out if they were accepting donations of bric-a-brac, clothes etc because over the pandemic most charity shops haven't been open so therefore they have a lot of stock. But they are taking stuff again so I will get together the stuff I have and return maybe tomorrow.

One of my neighbours who knows that I am a crafter dropped off a substantial amount of wool for me this morning. If I had had to buy the wool it would have cost me £75. So I have started to knit a scarf to see how far a ball of wool goes. The picture shows the amount of knitting for one ball, because it was on big needles it grew quickly but it is super soft and fluffy.

It never ceases to amaze me about the residence of the Grove, how kind and friendly they are. It is something that I have never really experienced in the other houses I have lived in. Yes, you would talk to your neighbour who lived next door but I find it so touching that the 20 households that make up the Grove are all known to each other by name and will always stop for a chat. This morning John from 5 doors up knocked on my door and offered me some produce from his allotment. So kind!!!!!!

I am sure that mum will enjoy the beans with her pork chop tonight when she comes for tea.
