As promised Ben came around to assemble the Kamodo's new home.
Of course, we shared bacon sandwiches and a pot of tea first, well it would be rude not to.
So Ben covered the island with a throw to protect it and then set out all the pieces, even with the instructions I would not have been able to build the unit myself.
The metal was super sharp, so we were working with heavy gardening gloves on to protect our hands.
The unit itself is absolutely perfect for the job I purchased it for and the kamado BBQ fitted snuggly into it. After we had positioned it in the yard next to the ordinary bin store.
When Sandra passed away my mother bought a lovely glossy-leafed Fatsia and christened it Sandra. She kept it in a pot next to her back door and talked to it every day. I got her a little commemorative plaque to stick in the pot and she was really happy with it. Over the 2 years, the plant has really enjoyed being in the pot near mums back door. A couple of weeks ago mam made the decision to put Sandra in the ground. Ian our garden duly did so and all was fine. Of course, you know what happened to the mother unit and I couldn't allow Sandra to remain in the ground, as in due course she would be lost to us when mum's bungalow is sold, and I know mam wouldn't want her to be left. so she has been repotted and brought to my bungalow to be put in the ground here.
I had to make room for her so my hugely overgrown buddleia next to my front gate took the hit. Hopefully, Sandra will like it there and will flourish. I am thinking of purchasing another one to plant them together to remember the mother unit.
This afternoon I had a lovely visit from Sue Caton, she brought me a lovely bunch of white roses and a card.
Just as we got settled down for a chat Jonica turned up with this lovely arrangement of autumnal-coloured flowers.
It was really nice catching up and I was so touched that people had taken time out to come and see me.
Of course, the postman had a large number of cards for me this morning, thank you, everyone, he thought it was my birthday, haha and I am sure he felt more than a little awkward when I told him the reason for the cards.
It was lovely seeing both you and Jonica!
